The Center for Business, Government & Society is pleased to invite you to a discussion with former Governor and U.S. presidential candidate John Hickenlooper. Governor Hickenlooper served two-terms as Governor of Colorado and eight years as the Mayor of Denver. Before he entered public office, Governor Hickenlooper spent twenty years as a small business owner. He built his first brewpub in Denver in the late 1980s. He worked with other small business owners in the area to turn an abandoned warehouse district into a thriving downtown - and later he went on to build 15 brewpubs across the Midwest. Governor Hickenlooper will address questions about the future of capitalism and economic revitalization in America based on his experience as a small business owner, mayor and governor.

A coffee chat with Malcolm Lee, former Head of Policy at Alibaba Group. We have limited seating, so it’s a first come first serve basis.
Bio: Malcolm Lee has served in senior economic, trade, investment, and information policy and IP positions in the Clinton and Obama Administrations (NEC, NSC, State, Commerce, OMB) and led Microsoft's international and China policy and strategy in Redmond and Beijing. Most recently, Malcolm was Managing Director & Head of Policy for Alibaba Group, representing the company in international markets.
After leaving the Obama Administration, Malcolm was a non-resident senior fellow at the John L. Thornton China Center at the Brookings Institution. He began his career as a legislative aide to Senator Arlen Specter (Pa) and after law school was a trade lawyer in private practice in DC. Malcolm is a graduate of Yale College (B.A., cum laude, Economics-Political Science and East Asian Studies) and University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
